The Wat Hong Rattanaram Temple in Bangkok, Thailand, presented the Buddha’s shoulder relics (Śarīra) to Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang. The Buddha’s relics are enshrined in the Five Dhyanibuddha Shrine Hall. The ceremony of the donation of the Buddha’s relics was conducted under the leadership of Kek Lok Si Temple’s Abbot, Venerable Master Xian Guan. Tzu Chi volunteers also seized such an extraordinary affinity and prepared offerings for the monks attending the Dharma assembly. If one were to view the Sarira, it is comparable to seeing the Buddha. It is a rare and extraordinary affinity, as the Sangha and all sentient beings are filled with Dharma joy regardless of challenges faced in ensuring the Buddha’s teachings last forever.
